Position Overview: Installation Technician

Flock Safety is seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented Installation Technician to join our Field Operations team. Our technicians are the frontline representatives of our company, interacting directly with customers and ensuring our products are installed flawlessly. This role requires a strong work ethic, critical thinking, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Install poles of varying lengths according to installation specifications, including digging holes a minimum of 8” x 36”.
• Mount solar panels on poles and attach external batteries to solar panels.
• Affix license-plate reading cameras with PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) technology to poles.
• Work on both public and private roads, often at heights of 10-12 feet.
• Operate a bucket truck and/or ladder to work on equipment up to 30 feet high.
• Perform minor repairs to underground irrigation or private wiring.
• Document installations by taking pictures via the Flock field app on a mobile device.
• Manage administrative tasks, including inventory management and receiving product shipments.
• Conduct all work in a safe and professional manner.
• Meet with customers to discuss installation options and perform site surveys.
• Interpret traffic control plan and permit drawings to identify correct installation locations for Flock devices.

Requirements & Skills

• Physical Demands: Requires frequent/continuous bending, digging, reaching, climbing, squatting, sitting, standing, walking, driving, and independently lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Field Experience: Prior experience in field work such as construction, security systems, or low voltage wiring is a plus.
• Equipment Operation: Prior experience operating a bucket truck is a plus.
• Driving: Must be comfortable driving a work van (Ford Transit) and occasionally a 1-ton pickup truck (Ram 3500) or towing a small trailer.
• Tool Proficiency: Must have prior experience using power tools, motor vehicles, and heavy equipment.
• Heights: Must be comfortable working on ladders at high heights.
• Handyman Skills: Possess handyman-like experience, either personally or professionally.
• Soft Skills: Strong time-management, organization, and communication skills.
• Work Environment: Desire to work outdoors and comfort working in all weather conditions and outdoor elements.
• Technical Aptitude: General knowledge of technology and the ability/desire to learn and work with new software and tools.
• Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of computer skills, including Office Suite, Google Suite, and email.

Required Availability

• Monday - Friday during daylight hours.
• Overtime is expected at times.
