About the Role

doola is seeking a detail-oriented Finance Analyst to support our Finance team. As a key member of the Finance function, you'll ensure timely and accurate financial processes, directly contributing to doola’s financial clarity and decision-making capabilities. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a dynamic startup environment, enjoys improving processes, and has a passion for accurate financial reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

Financial Operations

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor payments, commissions, and internal expenses.
  • Process customer referral payments and payments to various government entities.
  • Own and improve other financial operations processes.

Month-End Close and Bookkeeping

  • Support timely month-end closing activities in coordination with external bookkeepers.
  • Prepare financial analyses necessary for month-end reporting.

Investor Reporting

  • Manage the preparation and distribution of investor reports.
  • Address ad-hoc investor reporting requests efficiently and accurately.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Conduct regular FP&A activities to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.
  • Deliver timely monthly forecasts, budget variance analyses, and insightful ad-hoc financial analyses.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or finance administration roles.
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience managing financial transactions, commissions, or payment processes.
  • Understanding: Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial statements.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a high-growth startup environment.
  • Familiarity with financial software tools such as Brex, Mercury, and QuickBooks.
  • Prior experience streamlining and automating manual financial processes.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency: Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Comfort: Comfort with payment processing platforms (Brex, Mercury).

Competencies

  • Detail Orientation: Maintains high accuracy in financial tasks, proactively identifies inconsistencies, and meticulously documents financial activities.
  • Proactive Process Improvement: Regularly identifies areas for automation or process enhancement, swiftly implements practical improvements, and suggests new tools or methods for efficiency.
  • Technical Financial Acumen: Quickly masters financial software, accurately performs reconciliations, and effectively troubleshoots software integrations.
