Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel, along with strong technical problem-solving skills and basic commercial awareness, are required. A minimum of approximately 5 years of practical experience in the relevant technical/engineering discipline with measured KPIs is necessary, along with a proven ability to meet business-critical timeframes and deadlines, and successful experience in maintaining continuous professional development and managing customer engagement. Advantageous IT knowledge includes general connectivity, network integration of devices, wireless protocols, mobile network technologies, software support, and cybersecurity standards. The role requires participation in 24-hour on-call duties and frequent travel within the assigned geographical region of the UK/Ireland.
The Field Engineer is responsible for installing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining Baxter/Hillrom products within their designated geographical area, adhering to company procedures and quality system frameworks. They will establish and maintain timely customer communications and relationships with stakeholders, report all relevant service activity accurately in the service system, and ensure work orders are closed daily. The role involves maintaining and documenting assigned calibration equipment, providing technical support for inbound customer and patient calls, and undertaking relevant actions. Field Engineers must maintain up-to-date technical competence through training and development, identify opportunities for business growth, and escalate them to relevant stakeholders. They will also review KPIs regularly to maximize service levels. As a trained Subject Matter Expert (SME), they will coordinate and disseminate technical updates, act as the technical expert and escalation point for customers, account managers, and engineers, provide technical input into contracts and tender submissions, and represent UKI interests in EMEA/Global technical communities.
