  • Brief Description: As a Field Service Engineer II - Clinical Service, you will be responsible for delivering routine service activities for the Unity Lab Services Chromatography Service group, primarily focusing on Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Mass Spectroscopy (MS) Instruments. You will provide preventive maintenance, installation, and service repairs to customers on-site, aiming for high customer satisfaction and minimizing repeat call rates. This role requires on-site presence at customer locations in Chantilly, VA, with potential for overnight travel up to 25% for training, mentoring, and supporting other sites.

Requirements

  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance.
  • Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.).
  • Standing for full shift.
  • Customer-facing role, requiring collaboration with other ULS teams and Sales.
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 25% within the territory or other areas as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site installations, repairs, maintenance, qualifications, and validations.
  • Provide customer-facing service, working in conjunction with other ULS teams and Sales.
  • Use customer management software to review service calls, handle parts inventories, and complete job tasks.
  • Listen to the customer, review their documents, and inspect the instrument to resolve the nature and scope of the problem.
  • Analyze and review inspection findings to resolve the source of the problem and recommend repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
  • Analyzes system chemistry and use instrument reports to diagnose technical or application problems.
  • Work with specialists, engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs and drive quick resolution.
  • Establish and maintain communication between the customer and the company to ensure effective service.
