Illumina, Inc. is seeking an exceptional Staff Medical Science Liaison in Oncology. This role focuses on leading and executing the Medical Affairs Strategy in the US, providing medical leadership and expertise in the commercialization of Illumina’s sequencing, assay, and software products for oncology. The primary goal is to drive the adoption of Illumina’s products in the clinical market by building relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals (HCPs), healthcare organizations (HCOs), and other relevant stakeholders. Illumina is a global leader in DNA and multi-omic sequencing, with a growing portfolio in clinical sequencing solutions and IVD tests for cancer screening and diagnostics. This position offers the opportunity to be part of a company transforming human health through genomic technology.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive understanding of Illumina: Demonstrated knowledge of Illumina, its product offerings, recent medical and scientific advancements, and key publications in precision medicine, with a focus on oncology.
  • Medical Education: Ability to deliver impactful medical education presentations across diverse oncology settings (medical conferences, sessions for allied healthcare professionals, and formulary committees).
  • Feedback Gathering: Ability to gather actionable feedback from presentations for organizational sharing and improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Medical Affairs Strategy: Lead and execute the Medical Affairs Strategy in the US.
  • Evidence Generation: Contribute to the planning, development, and commercialization of Illumina’s products.
  • KOL Management: Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs).
  • HCP/HCO Engagement: Engage with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and healthcare organizations (HCOs).
  • Professional Society Collaboration: Collaborate with professional societies.
  • Customer Support: Support customers in adopting Illumina’s products.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work across Illumina’s cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Markets Access, Government Affairs, Regulatory, and Clinical Affairs) to ensure alignment with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Reporting: Report to a Head of Oncology Medical Affairs for the Americas.
