We have a remote opportunity for a System Engineer III to join our team. The Systems Engineer will support the building of scalable, highly available, efficient, and secure cloud solutions for a medical device SaaS. You will act as our internal product and technology expert, collaborating with internal software architects, developers, and external product managers to ensure business requirements are accurately translated into product features and capabilities. You will play a crucial role in our software development process, helping customers define their needs, validating designs with architects, and ensuring built products meet requirements.

The Systems Engineer reports to the Systems Engineering Manager and works closely with all parts of the business to deliver great products.

Responsibilities

  • Work with customer product managers to uncover, understand, and translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Ensure requirements are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations by collaborating effectively with internal and external teams, including developers, architects, quality assurance, operations, and regulatory.
  • Operate as the product expert by providing internal and customer training on product usage, answering product-related questions, and assessing/addressing technical risks.
  • Serve as a product evangelist and subject matter expert to our customer community.
  • Facilitate and participate in the creation and maintenance of proper product documentation.
  • Develop and prioritize user stories, including success criteria for testing and product acceptance.
  • Develop and maintain feature backlogs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience and a BS degree, OR 2 years of relevant experience and an MS degree, OR equivalent years of education and experience in Engineering and Sciences.
  • Solid knowledge of general engineering/science principles and laboratory skills.
  • Strong knowledge of defined development processes consistent with ISO, FDA design control standards, or requirements.
  • Knowledge of contemporary design control and risk management practices.
  • Understanding of the electro-mechanical, software, mathematical, chemical, or biochemical processes operative in diagnostic systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels within the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Medical Devices or other regulated fields is preferred.
