Requirements

Candidates should possess 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, along with hands-on experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, Spark, and Scala. They should also have experience designing, building, and operating a Data Lake or Data Warehouse, knowledge of Data Orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect, familiarity with change data capture tools like Canal, Debezium, or Maxwell, experience in at least one primary language (e.g., Scala, Python) and SQL, and experience with data cataloging and metadata management using AWS Glue Data Catalog, Lakeformation, or Unity Catalog, as well as proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC).

Responsibilities

The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data ingestion pipelines using Databricks, Airflow, Lambda, and Terraform, optimizing and managing large-scale data pipelines for high performance and reliability, implementing data processing workflows using Spark, Delta Lake, PySpark, and Scala, maintaining and enhancing a Data Lakehouse with Unity Catalog for effective data management and discovery, building automation, framework, and improved tooling to support end-to-end data engineering workflows, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data flow and integration, and implementing best practices for observability, data governance, security, and compliance.
