Candidates must currently reside in the Midwest/Central United States, preferably near a major airport in Wisconsin, Nebraska, or Michigan. The role requires the ability to travel Monday through Friday with significant overnight travel. A strong understanding of Abbott's Diagnostic Division (ADD) highest complexity instruments, assays, reagents, and customer needs is essential. Experience in instrument and assay integration, training, and troubleshooting is required. Familiarity with quality systems, regulatory requirements, and validation processes is necessary. The ability to document information accurately into a complaint handling system is also a requirement.

Responsibilities

The Technical Application Specialist I will serve as the primary contact for complex instrument and assay integration and training for Abbott's Diagnostic Division (ADD) customers and field personnel. They will provide onsite and remote support for troubleshooting and resolving instrument and reagent issues, acting as a resource for internal and external customers. Responsibilities include leading multi-site/multi-instrument integrations, conducting customer interviews to understand needs and manage expectations, planning and executing onsite integration processes, and assisting customers with regulatory and validation requirements. The specialist will provide training, manage integration timelines, conduct exit interviews, lead critical account management situations, and investigate product issues to improve customer self-sufficiency. This role is critical for supporting the CAPA Quality Sub-System through accurate documentation of customer complaints and resolution actions.
