Candidates should possess a degree or equivalent experience, an HNC/HND or equivalent level qualification in a relevant engineering field such as medical technology, electronic, or mechanical engineering, and demonstrate strong technical problem-solving skills. They should have in-depth practical experience in the relevant technical field, along with measured critical metrics, and good IT knowledge including connectivity, network integration, wireless protocols, and cyber security standards. Furthermore, candidates must be able to participate in 24-hour on-call duties, work independently, and travel frequently within the assigned geographical region in the UK/Ireland, with a full UK/Ireland driving license.
The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for installing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining Baxter/Hillrom products, including Smart Beds and Safe Patient Handling equipment, across accounts in Leeds, North Staffordshire, Midlands, and Manchester. This includes establishing and maintaining customer communications and relationships, reporting service activity accurately in the service system, maintaining calibration equipment, providing technical support for in-bound calls, maintaining technical competence through training, acting as a technical expert for customers and engineers, providing feedback into contracts and tender submissions, reviewing critical metrics, and adapting working practices to maximize service levels.
