Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in bioinformatics, molecular biology, genetics, or a related field, and ideally hold a Master’s or PhD degree with at least one year of relevant experience. Strong expertise in bioinformatics, data science, and systems integration is preferred, along with English fluency.

Responsibilities

The Field Bioinformatics Support Scientist will provide technical direction and support to Illumina’s Next generation Sequencing customers on Illumina Software & Analysis Products, troubleshooting bioinformatics questions via phone and email. They will also collaborate within a support team to find optimal solutions, assist customers with sequencing experiment design and interpretation, log customer issues, and meet with customers to understand their bioinformatics needs and propose solutions. Furthermore, the role involves traveling up to 70% to meet with field teams in Latin America and the USA, and collaborating with colleagues across various departments to identify new opportunities for customer assistance.
