Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or a related field, with a Master's degree or PhD being preferred. They should have at least two years of relevant experience in NGS sequencing, Capillary Electrophoresis, qPCR, and RT-PCR, along with experience in healthcare industry standards and environments. Previous experience as an Applications Specialist is desirable, and clinical laboratory experience or an MLT certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

The Clinical Applications Specialist will provide primary support to clinical laboratories, including training, validation, and troubleshooting for Thermo Fisher Scientific/Ion Torrent NGS products, promote clinical solutions to existing customers and at conferences, lead the implementation of assays and solutions at customer sites, enhance customer value and satisfaction, build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, review and assist customers with data analysis using relevant software, help customers design and conduct experiments, provide initial training, understand CAP/CLIA NYS Guidelines, provide technical assistance, collaborate with Clinical Account Managers, maintain CRM database, ensure consistent communication, drive technology adoption, and align with internal teams.
