Requirements

Candidates should possess a PhD in epigenetics, computational biology, genomics, systems biology, or a related field, along with 1-5 years of industry experience. They must have at least 5 years of experience analyzing and interpreting epigenetics data and translating insights into actionable progress at the bench, demonstrated by a strong publication record. Proficiency in R, Python, and Bash is required, as well as experience with versioning and collaborative coding via Git. Prior experience with a high-performance computing cluster and/or cloud computing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Senior Epigenetics Bioinformatician will collaborate with biology teams to independently perform team-specific projects using both in-house and publicly available data, functionally interact with Conception’s computational infrastructure, contribute to team code bases, assess the literature for new analysis methods, and translate computational findings into testable hypotheses and experimental designs. They will also work closely with biologists to identify ways computational data can be leveraged to generate new hypotheses and scientific directions for laboratory testing, and contribute to the development of ovarian organoids.

Conception

Biotech firm developing egg cells from blood

About Conception

Conception.bio focuses on improving fertility treatments through advanced biotechnology. The company has developed a method to create viable egg cells from blood samples by transforming induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) into mature egg cells. This process allows women to extend their fertility, provides new options for couples facing infertility, and enables genetic screening of embryos to avoid hereditary diseases. Unlike other fertility treatment providers, Conception.bio directly serves individuals and couples, including same-sex male couples, with a unique approach to egg cell development. The goal is to lead the fertility treatment market by offering effective solutions that address the diverse needs of those seeking to conceive.
