Requirements

Candidates should possess a minimum of 15+ years of experience, along with 10+ years of management responsibility, and a proven sales history demonstrating international geographic responsibility and prior experience with account management. An equivalency of appropriate education, training, and directly related experience may be considered. Strong interpersonal skills are required, including a track record of developing mid- and high-level business contacts, and the ability to manage and fully integrate with various departments such as Operations, Finance, Bids & Contracts, and Marketing. Good computer skills, including proficiency in sales automation systems, word processing, spreadsheets, and email, are also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Executive Director, Business Development will direct business development initiatives for the region/area, develop marketing strategies to ensure growth, and mentor staff in generating new business opportunities and increasing authorizations with existing clients. They will negotiate and close contracts, sign new business at or above authorization goals, manage functional department staff, ensure staff goals are met, maintain client management and satisfaction activity, report client dissatisfaction, respond to client dissatisfaction, and oversee PPD’s business development initiatives. The role involves establishing strategy and direction in alignment with strategic plans, managing interpersonal relationships to influence decisions, and having a significant long-term impact on assigned areas.
