Candidates should have prior experience as a Sales Engineer or Pre-Sales Engineer, with at least 3 years of experience selling into Enterprise and Mid Market prospects. Experience with MEDDPICC and/or Command of the Message sales frameworks is required, along with expertise in container technologies (Kubernetes, Serverless, Docker), cloud technology (AWS, Azure, Google), cloud security or container security, and application security. Startup experience is also a plus.
The Enterprise Sales Engineer will assess prospect technical requirements and demonstrate how Chainguard products meet client needs. They will cultivate relationships with decision-makers, negotiate competing needs of stakeholders, and secure technical wins through demos, RFP/RFI responses, and Proofs of Value (POVs). Responsibilities include partnering with the Sales Team to acquire new customer logos and grow the existing customer base, owning all technical aspects of sales opportunities, and assisting current customers in understanding Chainguard's value. Day-to-day tasks involve listening to customers, understanding their challenges, conducting product demonstrations and POVs/POCs, and actively participating in webinars, meetups, conferences, and other marketing initiatives.
