As an Enterprise Account Executive at Chainguard, you won’t just sell—you’ll help shape how the next generation of secure software gets delivered. You'll join a world-class team, work with cutting-edge technology, and play a key role in helping leading organizations protect their software from build to production.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for driving new business by owning a defined territory and developing a strong pipeline through a mix of inbound and outbound strategies. While this role includes outbound prospecting, it’s far more than just a hunting position—you’ll work closely with both technical and business stakeholders, guiding them through complex buying cycles and helping them understand the strategic value Chainguard brings to modern software supply chain security.

You’ll be expected to consistently meet or exceed quota by executing a clear sales strategy, managing opportunities in our CRM, and collaborating with internal teams across product, marketing, and sales engineering. Success in this role requires a consultative approach, sharp business acumen, and the ability to position yourself as a trusted advisor. Along the way, you'll provide valuable feedback to influence product direction and stay ahead of a competitive and fast-evolving market.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of successful enterprise sales experience, with a consistent history of meeting or exceeding quota
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), with some knowledge in one or more of the following:
    • Container platforms (Kubernetes, Docker)
    • Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
    • DevOps tooling
    • CI/CD platforms (GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins)
  • Proven ability to ramp quickly on new products, technologies, and sales motions
  • A competitive, goal-oriented mindset with the drive to exceed expectations
  • Strong collaborator who thrives in a team-first, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of influencing both technical and business stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support key customer relationships and in-person engagements
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a resourceful, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude and strong work ethic

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience selling SaaS or developer tools to technical and security buyers
  • Background working in fast-paced startups or early-stage environments
  • Strong sales instincts and a solid understanding of modern B2B sales processes
  • Technically curious with the ability to translate complex solutions into clear business value
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, ever-evolving product and market landscape

Location

We’re ideally looking for candidates based in Salt Lake City, but we’re open to strong applicants located anywhere in Utah—as long as you're willing to travel to Salt Lake City as needed.

Compensation

  • $325,000 OTE + Equity
