Strong negotiation skills

Ability to handle correspondence regarding shipping issues (overships, shortages, etc.)
Understanding of cost, quality, and delivery requirements
Ability to reconcile open orders with suppliers
Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal teams

Responsibilities

Inputting purchase orders and expediting deliveries
Verifying all transactions and ensuring accuracy
Checking invoices for accuracy
Authorizing payments through the accounts payable department
Handling correspondence regarding over-shipments, delivery shortages, changes in quantity, delivery dates, and prices
Issuing requests for quotes (RFQs) and selecting the best source based on cost, quality, and delivery requirements
Contributing to improving the business and protecting the company's reputation by suggesting and implementing changes
Reconciliation of Open orders periodically with suppliers
Meeting representatives for information on new products, price queries, delivery problems, and general partnership building
Complying with company policies, procedures, and instructions
