Responsibilities

  • Shape disclosures and report on a defined issue portfolio for investor and thought leader audiences, crafting and producing strong ESG disclosures adhering to existing and emerging regulatory reporting standards
  • Develop ESG messaging and work with ESG team, Investor Relations, and Corporate Communications on strategy to reach target audiences through ESG reporting, direct engagement, and other channels
  • Advise colleagues on Walmart’s shared value agenda by staying updated on developments (e.g., regulatory, legislative, competitor trends) and advising on aspirations, policies, practices, targets, key metrics, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Take a global perspective on emerging frameworks, policies, and practices; maintain a robust network of peers and collaborators internally and externally
  • Develop annual issue strategies for portfolio; collaborate with subject matter teams to set annual strategy and reporting plans; regularly engage to discuss progress and adjust
  • Lead special projects to enhance ESG performance, coordinating cross-functional, complex projects for policy, practice, and disclosure outcomes, including research, benchmarking, and development of breakthrough policies or practices
  • Engage/influence external stakeholders by participating in external events to highlight Walmart’s shared value strategy and best practices; engage investors, NGOs, standard setters/raters, suppliers, coalition leads, etc., to obtain feedback, shape standards, and influence perceptions
