Requirements

Candidates must possess a BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, along with a CPA certification or equivalent practical experience. They should have a minimum of 12 years of progressive experience, including at least 7 years in revenue-specific roles, preferably within a Big 4 public accounting firm or a global, publicly traded high-tech organization. Experience in a leadership role in revenue accounting operations at a publicly-traded company is required, as is strong knowledge of US GAAP, particularly ASC 606 for on-premise software revenue and SaaS. Experience with revenue system or ERP implementations, attention to detail, multitasking ability, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills are also essential.

Responsibilities

The Director, Revenue Accounting Operations will lead the global revenue close and reporting process, including reviewing controls and reconciliations. They will drive significant process improvements, including automations and system implementations, and play a key role in the company's quarterly revenue forecasting. This role involves developing and training the Revenue Accounting Operations Team across US and India, optimizing workload allocation, and providing thought leadership on revenue accounting policies and processes. Responsibilities also include managing internal controls, improving SOX coverage, acting as a subject matter expert for usage-based SaaS and on-premise contracts, and partnering with Accounts Receivable to understand billing processes and their revenue recognition impacts.
