Position Overview

Twilio is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director to spearhead our Carrier Relations team. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless communication services and fostering strategic partnerships with global carriers. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in communication services, preferably with experience in companies similar to Twilio, and a proven track record in managing carrier relationships.


Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead and mentor a team of carrier relations specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with global carriers to ensure optimal service delivery and cost-effective solutions.
  • Oversee contract negotiations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Implement and monitor KPIs to assess carrier performance and ensure alignment with Twilio's strategic goals.
  • Work closely with product management, sales, and technical teams to align carrier strategies with business objectives.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to carrier services, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

Required:

  • Minimum of 10 years in the telecommunication services industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing carrier relations.
  • Deep understanding of telecommunications, carrier operations, and regulatory environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Desired:

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols and standards such as SS7, ISUP, and MAP is advantageous.

Travel

We prioritize connection and opportunities to build relationships with our customers and each other. For this role, approximately 20% travel is anticipated to help you connect in-person in a meaningful way.
