Director, Customer Marketing - Convenience Retail

Position Overview

Our North America Operating Unit (NAOU) Marketing Teams are responsible for marketing and growing a portfolio of brands – ensuring that each brand connects deeply with local consumers in ways that scale globally.

As Director, Customer Marketing - Convenience Retail, you will lead customer marketing for assigned customers, responsible for amplifying category/brand plans and creating differentiated marketing/path to purchase platforms. You will engage with the customer team, leverage Collaborative Business Plans and Coca-Cola Customer Commitment, and represent category/brand platforms, programming, and innovation to the customer and customer team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead customer marketing for assigned customers.
  • Drive marketing by amplifying category/brand plans and creating differentiated marketing/path to purchase platforms.
  • Engage with the customer team and leverage Collaborative Business Plans and Coca-Cola Customer Commitment.
  • Represent category/brand platforms, programming, and innovation to the customer and customer team.
  • Collaborate with Integrated Marketing (IMX) and creative marketers/agency to enable irresistible customer marketing.
  • Work with IMX Connected Commerce team to drive compelling omni-channel plans (via media/eComm/digital marketing/retail media).
  • Build annual plans and long-term (3-5 year) customer marketing platforms.
  • Inspire customers to engage in compelling and irresistible customer marketing platforms.
  • Manage senior-level customer relationships.
  • Build, monitor, and implement sales and marketing plans across customers.
  • Apply advanced strategic and creative thinking.
  • Recognize, understand, and interpret shopper behavior, brand strategies, channel, and customer needs, and translate this knowledge into action and results.
  • Communicate with customer leadership and extensive customer functions (marketing, omni/digital, in-store, retail media, category, etc.).
  • Internally collaborate with category/brand leads, customer/sales leadership, connected commerce, and integrated marketing.
  • Inspire customers and the system (OU’s, Bottlers, and Customers) with category platforms.
  • Support alignment with bottlers and customer teams to win with key category initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other graduate degree preferred.
  • Experience: 7 or more years of experience required, preferably in the consumer goods/beverages industry or sports business; 10 or more years preferred.
  • Cross-functional Teams: Experience leading and being part of cross-functional teams.
  • Marketing Experience: Customer marketing and omni-channel marketing experience.
  • Planning Expertise: Annual planning expertise, leveraging market trends and consumer/shopper insights.
  • Sales Experience: Selling experience and collaborating for value.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen with the ability to utilize category insights, shopper insights, and financial goals into planning.

Preferences

  • Significant customer marketing, consumer/shopper insights, business analytics experience.
  • Digital, Social, eComm, and Retail Media Network Knowledge & Experience.
  • Financial management experience.
  • Creative development experience, inclusive of working with or for creative shopper agencies.
  • Previous Customer/Shopper/Region/Channel Management experience.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to influence across the internal organization and with the customer.
