Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive, business-minded legal advice to senior product leaders on the evolution of Business Core
  • Act as an investigator on projects uniting lines of business, drilling down into operations to build better ways forward
  • Understand business objectives, applicable law, landscape, and context to apply law to business initiatives
  • Act as subject matter expert on a wide range of regulatory issues, working with regulatory experts on novel issues
  • Translate between business intent, regulatory requirements, legal guardrails, best practices, technology, and customer needs (e.g., small business, commercial)
  • Serve as the Legal point person for the area, owning legal issues including drafting product terms, reviewing marketing collateral, and interfacing with business leaders
  • Build scalable solutions including processes, playbooks, and training materials for product teams and stakeholders
  • Review product feature changes for regulatory compliance: meet with business partners, identify legal obligations or risks, provide recommendations (e.g., revise user-facing content, draft product terms and disclosures, assist with strategic partnership integrations)
  • Perform legal research on existing and new laws applied to novel technology implementations
  • Develop legal theories for complex use cases and use expertise to influence business strategy and decisions
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Design teams, providing clear, practical legal advice to innovate while navigating regulatory landscape
  • Manage issues and events as the lead legal partner for the Business Core tower of the Customer Identity and Core team
