Candidates should have over 7 years of experience in data engineering, including at least 2 years in a team lead or management role with a proven track record in recruiting, developing, and mentoring high-performing teams. Experience with DevOps principles, monitoring, automation for data infrastructure, and deep knowledge of data modeling techniques and programming fundamentals (e.g., Python) are required. Hands-on expertise with SQL and modern data tools such as Snowflake, dbt, and Spark is necessary, along with experience designing and deploying scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and schema management solutions. Deep knowledge of AWS cloud ecosystems, networking/security, common IaC tools like Terraform, and building systems for scale are essential. The ability to provide architectural guidance, make trade-offs for critical decisions balancing engineering scalability with business vision, and a high degree of ownership and adaptability are also required.
