Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent degree obtained outside the US meeting 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) requirements) and at least 5 years of relevant sales experience, or advanced degree and at least 3 years of relevant sales and leadership experience
  • Practical sales, business development, and management knowledge to lead and manage processes, projects, and tactics for one or more products
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in sales discipline, understanding of impact on other organizational areas

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and monitor sales team activities in designated region/area/geography to achieve sales targets
  • Develop and/or implement business strategies for existing and potential customers
  • Manage daily activities of the sales team to implement the organization's overall sales strategy in the designated region/area/geography
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with all key customer personnel and relevant functional departments to support sales, market development, service work, and clinical programs
  • Identify opportunities and develop new plans to meet the organization's sales plan and increase market share
  • Assess needs for new sales plans and processes, conduct competitive analysis, and implement strategies
  • Coach sales representatives on technical aspects of organization products and services, marketing campaigns and promotions, and sales techniques, procedures, and standards to help achieve sales targets
  • Manage Medtronic personnel in sales career category: supervise direct sales and operational activities focused on one or more specific business units, with multiple direct reports
  • Spend most time supervising responsibilities, managing performance, developing talent, promoting diversity and inclusion, communicating business and operational developments, planning, setting priorities, and/or guiding employees
  • Achieve goals primarily through performance of direct and/or indirect reports, with possible direct sales involvement as needed
  • Manage a small to medium team of supervisors and/or experienced sales personnel, leading, coaching, and reviewing their work where they exercise autonomy and independence in handling accounts
  • Authorize hiring, firing, promotion, and rewarding within own region
  • Provide direct sales, tactical, and/or operational leadership to experienced sales personnel with autonomy in client handling
  • Establish direct sales and operational plans impacting functional results, including target revenue, resource allocation, spending, and future business opportunities
  • Execute and implement key business transactions or projects, ensuring monitoring and review of individual and team progress
  • Provide market or operational insights on complex, difficult, undefined problems requiring detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation
  • Make moderate improvements to processes, policies, and/or products to enhance overall sales team performance
  • Communicate with internal and external customers and suppliers on ongoing operations, using information exchange, influence, and persuasion to gain cooperation without direct command
