Requirements

Candidates should possess an ability to understand and follow written and verbal job instructions, the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and written procedures, basic computer and math skills, and the ability to learn how to operate HMI touch screens. Prior experience in wood products, furnace/dryer operations, or a similar manufacturing environment is preferred, along with high attention to detail and the ability to work under stressful conditions.

Responsibilities

The Control Room Operator will operate plant functions from the control room, managing chip feed, fuel feed, furnace, dryer system, and pellet presses while monitoring indicator screens, signal lights, and production rates. They will also monitor spark detection equipment, manage various levels and feeds, adjust production line processes, maintain working schedules, equipment temperature, and safety standards, assess and adjust to equipment failures, communicate with team members, and utilize technical skills to resolve problems. Additionally, the operator will act as the overall contact for plant operations and perform flow, pressure, performance, and meter calculations.
