Candidates should possess proven experience with all aspects of the Newsroom Editor role, including handling VIP clients, prioritizing workload, and accurately distributing press releases with complicated distributions and formats. Previous training and/or manager experience is preferred. Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills are required, along with excellent and adaptive verbal and written communication skills.
The Newsroom Lead will assume full responsibility for a team, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently, including regular sweeps to prevent pending items from falling through the cracks; assigning press releases and completing quality checks on orders. They will serve as a main point of contact for high-profile projects, prioritize workload, anticipate and identify problems, take appropriate action to resolve them, and act as a liaison to operations and sales managers. The Lead will assist newsroom personnel with complex situations, demonstrate effective leadership, evaluate performance, coordinate recruiting and training, manage team members, communicate with fellow team leads, participate in monthly operations meetings, compile reports, and maintain team-specific documents. Additionally, the role involves handling essential duties of a Newsroom Editor as needed, participating in the Content Approval Team, and providing help with testing and proofing resource documentation.
