Position Overview

The Client Manager will be part of the Merchandising Analytics team, responsible for a portfolio of retail clients and product suite across North America. This role requires a driven sales hunter with a strong understanding of marketplace potential, focused on achieving sales success rates and accurately managing the sales pipeline and forecasting. The position reports directly to the Vice-President of Merchandising Analytics Sales.


Key Accountabilities

  • Meet or exceed revenue targets and grow market share.
  • Understand and articulate the value of data analytics, custom models, and solutions within the space planning environment.
  • Proactively identify and capitalize on new sales opportunities.
  • Clearly and convincingly present Retail Analytics offerings and value proposition, effectively addressing client objections.
  • Prospect, penetrate, and establish new client relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Independently drive deals to closure.
  • Develop executive-level presentations, tailoring messages for Sales Senior Leadership.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to execute go-to-market strategies.
  • Accurately report on sales activity and forecasting to senior sales management.
  • Develop and execute successful sales campaigns.
  • Maintain product and technical knowledge through continuous learning.
  • Cross-sell and partner with other NielsenIQ business units.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of professional leadership experience with a proven background in sales, marketing, or account management.
  • Analytical Skills: Experience utilizing analysis, reporting, modeling, and forecasting to inform business decisions.
  • Product Knowledge: Familiarity with NielsenIQ's assortment, merchandising, and space management solutions.
  • Adaptability: Ability to handle ambiguity and act with flexibility.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills with partners at all levels, from local sales teams to C-suite executives.
  • Industry Understanding: Good understanding of technology's critical role in CPG (Big Data, Analytics, Mobile, Digital).
  • Organizational Insight: Understanding of how information is used and shared within manufacturer and retailer organizations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, strong attention to detail, and effective follow-through.
  • Presentation Skills: Experience delivering presentations to large audiences.

Note: This is a fixed-term contract role. Candidates must currently be located in the greater Toronto area with the ability to travel to and attend in-person client meetings as required.
