Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related field. They should have at least 15 years of executive-level data leadership experience in global, matrixed organizations, with proven success in presenting to and influencing Boards of Directors. Expertise is required in delivering enterprise data strategies, cloud-native platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and AI/ML programs, along with familiarity with regulatory standards like GDPR, CCPA, SOX, and NYDFS, and leading governance frameworks. Demonstrated ability to drive culture change and data literacy initiatives enterprise-wide, along with outstanding leadership, communication, and change-management skills are essential. Preferred qualifications include an MBA or Master's degree in a relevant field, certifications such as CDMP, DCAM, TOGAF, or Open CDS, and experience scaling GenAI responsibly with embedded AI ethics.
The Chief Data Officer will define and execute a forward-looking enterprise data strategy aligned with company growth and digital transformation goals, serving as the principal advocate for data-driven decision-making across all business functions and regions. They will chair cross-functional councils linking data investments to outcomes, and design/modernize a cloud-native Lakehouse ecosystem with real-time pipelines, canonical data models, and self-service APIs. Responsibilities include evaluating and deploying best-in-class tooling for data management, ensuring platform scalability, reliability, and cost-optimization, and leading enterprise AI/ML, advanced analytics, and BI programs. The role involves incubating new data products, APIs, and GenAI services, partnering with business units to embed actionable insights, and providing strategic direction for data governance, privacy, and security initiatives. Additionally, the CDO will build and mentor a high-performing global team, define career paths and training programs, and foster cross-functional collaboration to align data initiatives with business objectives.
