Requirements

Candidates should possess 1-3 years of experience in Category Management within the CPG industry. Proficiency in syndicated data platforms such as Nielsen, IRI, SPINS, or Numerator is required, along with familiarity in working directly with headquarter-level customers. Proven experience in creating clear data stories using Powerpoint and/or Google Slides is essential, as is proficiency with direct customer and distributor data from retailers like UNFI, KeHE, Whole Foods Market, Target, and Walmart. Some travel may be required.

Responsibilities

The Category Development Analyst will lead the development and execution of category growth plans by analyzing market trends, shopper insights, and competitive intelligence. This role involves identifying retail sales opportunities through syndicated and shipment data analysis, including distribution gaps and white space, to support sales initiatives. The analyst will partner with key retail accounts to present category reviews and growth recommendations, develop customer-specific category development strategies, and create selling stories using compelling data insights. Additionally, the analyst will act as a strategic category expert, collaborating internally with Marketing, Sales, Innovation, and Finance teams.
