Position Overview

At Conduit Tech, we are revolutionizing the home services industry with cutting-edge software that leverages AI and LiDAR. Our tools provide contractors with fast, intuitive sales and load calculation capabilities, enabling them to close more deals, impress homeowners, and deliver superior comfort and savings. We are experiencing rapid growth and are seeking ambitious, driven sales professionals to join our team and target the extensive HVAC contractor market. If you are a team player, motivated by success, and passionate about shaping the future of home services technology, this is your opportunity.

Role Description

As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at Conduit Tech, you will be a crucial part of a fast-paced software startup. Your primary focus will be engaging with contractors early in their journey, understanding their needs, and guiding them towards a product demonstration. You excel at meeting activity metrics, building pipeline from scratch, and working independently. This role requires a proactive approach, a desire for significant impact, and the ability to effectively manage both inbound lead follow-up and outbound prospecting. This position is based in the East Coast time zone and is fully remote.

You Will Thrive If You Are:

  • Customer-Obsessed: You genuinely enjoy interacting with HVAC professionals, responding to inquiries from e-books, digital marketing, and webinars, understanding their challenges, and facilitating demo appointments.
  • A Great Listener & Communicator: You possess the ability to patiently listen to each contractor's unique situation and respond with clear, persuasive written and verbal communication.
  • Growth Oriented: You are committed to continuous learning, actively refining call scripts, improving personalization tactics, and embracing feedback to enhance conversion rates.
  • Driven Problem Solver: In a startup environment, you learn rapidly and implement best practices efficiently, identifying and proposing solutions for lead flow bottlenecks.
  • Efficient & Adaptable Time Manager: You can effectively balance competing priorities, dedicating approximately half your day to outbound prospecting (email, LinkedIn, text personalization) and the other half to inbound lead qualification, adapting your approach without compromising quality.
  • Scrappy, Self-Starter Who Moves Quickly: You are comfortable operating without a complete playbook, thriving in ambiguity, contributing to the development of BDR processes, and adopting new outbound tools even with budget limitations.

Responsibilities:

Lead Generation & Qualification:

  • Respond to inbound leads from various channels (e-book downloads, search marketing, webinars, SEO) and conduct discovery calls to assess prospect fit, handing off qualified opportunities to Account Executives (AEs) for demos.
  • Execute high-volume outbound prospecting campaigns targeting cold leads, including building prospect lists, utilizing LinkedIn scraping, AI-driven personalization tools, and manual email sequences.
  • Manage a balanced pipeline, incorporating both inbound follow-up and outbound outreach to ensure consistent lead flow into the sales funnel.
  • Maintain accurate activity logs and qualification notes in HubSpot to ensure transparency and efficient handoffs to the AE team.

Collaboration & Support:

  • Partner with the Marketing team to provide feedback on lead quality and suggest improvements for marketing assets such as e-books, landing pages, and nurture sequences.
  • Utilize data analytics to refine qualification criteria, track conversion rates from Marketing Qualified Leads (MQL) to Sales Qualified Leads (SQL), and continuously optimize outreach cadences.
  • Collaborate closely with the AE team to understand ideal customer profiles and tailor targeting strategies accordingly.
  • Attend monthly trade shows and regional events (up to once per month) to engage with potential customers, practice elevator pitches, and gather new contact information for outreach efforts.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a Business Development Representative (BDR), Sales Development Representative (SDR), or similar high-volume lead generation role.
  • Preference for experience in SaaS sales, particularly within the skilled trades or construction industries.
  • Proven ability to build pipeline from scratch through outbound cold outreach.
