Responsibilities

  • Lead across the organization Product Management ideas and activities
  • Participate in or lead analytical, experimental, investigative, and testing efforts in support of new product development engineering
  • Coordinate all phases of new product development, including research and design, financing, pricing, marketing, sales, and distribution
  • Develop overall marketing objectives, strategy, and further product development
  • Work closely with customer base to identify key needs and appropriate product solutions
  • Act as a funnel for product development ideas and influence key people to realize commercial opportunities
  • Perform analyses and prepare forecasts and recommendations in areas of product preferences, sales coverage, market penetration, market practices, and sales trends
  • Research market conditions to determine potential sales of a product and write profitability analysis
  • Build, manage, and provide leadership to a team of professional staff; perform talent management and development decisions
  • Develop and establish functional strategy and tactics to ensure successful completion of work meeting client/organizational expectations
  • Manage resources and take accountability for performance and results of multiple related teams
  • Develop departmental/functional plans, including business unit/production priorities, to address resource and operational needs
  • Identify, establish, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and influencers internally and externally
  • Provide subject matter expertise to clients, team members, colleagues on projects
  • Participate in internal and external projects broad in scope and tied to organizational strategy
  • Conduct regular status and strategy meetings with internal/external teams to understand risks, priorities, and ensure successful results
  • Evaluate current business processes and systems for cost-savings and risk control
  • Coordinate financial and budget activities for maximum operational efficiency
  • Review team and individual performance data (financial, sales, activity reports) to monitor productivity, goal progress, and activity levels
  • Motivate, develop, recruit, and retain employees while rewarding and cultivating high-performing teams
  • Lead or coordinate project/program teams from design to delivery of fully developed products ready for customer use
  • Monitor performance and recommend schedule changes, cost adjustments, or resource additions
  • Investigate facts and develop strategic solutions to problems
  • Provide timely and accurate information and status updates to functional leaders
  • Perform feasibility studies and manage field trials
  • Establish marketing strategies including product direction, advertising, packaging, pricing, expense budgets, profit plans, and future product development to manage product life cycle
  • Lead engineers, designers, suppliers, and customers to develop product requirements and specifications
  • Lead teams preparing product introductions and updates
  • Make recommendations for product solutions based on customer feedback, aligning to customer needs
