  • Expertise in automation systems, process control, and control system vendors
  • Knowledge of GMP, safety, environmental standards, and validation processes
  • Ability to develop and implement automation strategies, including capital, expense, and staffing plans
  • Strong personnel management skills, including supervision, performance reviews, and team development
  • Experience interfacing with corporate/global functions and external stakeholders
  • Skills in negotiation for equipment and professional services

Responsibilities

  • Ensure provision of automation resources for day-to-day support of site operating areas
  • Manage relationships with key internal/external customers
  • Develop process automation strategy and planning, including capital, expense, and staffing plans
  • Handle relationships with control system vendors and negotiations for new equipment/services
  • Oversee technical and personal development of the process automation team, including day-to-day supervision and policy administration
  • Ensure resources are available to implement and maintain compliant systems
  • Accountable for design and implementation of quality/automation/validation processes
  • Participate and influence Corporate Automation groups as part of global process control leadership
  • Plan, monitor, and measure team goals/business plan, translating to individual performance
  • Drive continuous improvement, future planning, and changes to work practices
  • Establish and maintain safety, GMP, and environmental standards; communicate company values
  • Conduct annual performance reviews with team members
  • Manage site events with other management to meet business plan targets
  • Contribute to site planning processes (HR, business, scorecard, capital, action planning)
  • Proactively support site management decisions and strategy
  • Contribute to development and implementation of site strategy, capacity/technology strategy, and business development
