Position Overview

The Sales Manager will be instrumental in establishing and growing Twist's market presence within the fields of synthetic biology, variant libraries, and drug development. This role involves developing strategic goals, cultivating key customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, negotiating and closing deals, and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of market dynamics.

Reporting to the KOSEA Sales Director, the Sales Manager will spearhead efforts to identify and foster business partnerships with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and other relevant companies, as well as academic institutions. The focus will be on promoting the adoption of Twist's technologies, particularly in synthetic biology, antibody and protein engineering, drug development, cellular and immunotherapy, and supporting biopharma products and services.

The Sales Manager is responsible for the entire lifecycle of opportunities, from creation and development to negotiation and closure of contracts and agreements with customers, collaborators, and partners. This includes managing and nurturing commercial alliances with internal Twist resources and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and generate leads for potential customers, collaborators, and partners to drive revenue from synthetic biology and variant libraries.
  • Collaborate with Twist’s Channel Partners in Australia to develop both direct and indirect business through consultative selling, strategic planning, and portfolio management.
  • Generate, drive, and secure a continuous flow of library/synthetic biology sales and antibody/drug development solution contracts, leading to high-value commercial agreements.
  • Provide technical support to customers and evaluate incoming partnership opportunities related to synthetic biology and Twist library solutions.
  • Present Twist's capabilities, competencies, and offerings (with support from Twist scientific resources) to strategically important potential new collaborators and partners.
  • Lead negotiations to close library and synthetic biology orders and establish collaboration and partnership contracts.
  • Support, maintain, and grow existing and new customer relationships, collaborations, and partnerships in an alliance management capacity to foster satisfied, customer-focused development and/or commercial partnerships.
  • Develop strong working relationships with subject matter experts across Twist Biopharma and Twist Bioscience, coordinating tasks with qualified colleagues for opportunity pursuit.
  • Lead the development of financial models, contracts, and agreements to support business cases for new customers, collaborators, and partners.
  • Collect and analyze market and financial data to establish and present compelling business cases.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential customers, collaborators, and partnerships within pharmaceutical, biotech, academic, commercial, and related industries, ensuring no competitive conflicts.
  • Develop and maintain a roadmap of potential customers, collaborators, and partnerships to ensure a healthy, growing, and diversified revenue pipeline.
  • Collaborate with Twist marketing to enhance product exposure and build the Twist Bioscience brand in Australia.
  • Oversee the creation of customized sales tools and marketing collateral, including proposals, RFP responses, and technical presentations, for prospective customers.
