Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field is required, with a Master's or MBA preferred. Candidates must have 4 years of related experience in market development, clinical, customer success, or a similar sales/marketing role within the medical device industry, specifically in orthopedics for foot and ankle. Experience developing a new market, including implementing key tactics, execution, and performance tracking, is strongly preferred. This role requires over 50% travel.

Responsibilities

The Market Development Specialist will drive business growth by identifying market expansion opportunities and targeting new customers within specific markets. They will execute market development aspects of commercial plans in collaboration with Sales and Marketing teams, build relationships with key potential customers, and educate them on product benefits to drive adoption and utilization. Responsibilities include serving as a market subject matter expert, conducting market research, partnering with Sales to develop strategies, facilitating communication with Sales Representatives, collaborating with product management and marketing on launch plans, and utilizing product messaging to communicate value propositions. The specialist will also collaborate with Medical Education to support educational programs, establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers, conduct surgeon visits, identify and develop sales leads, provide product knowledge and clinical data to sales teams, and establish performance metrics for market uptake and customer retention.
