Candidates must possess deep knowledge of Cataract procedures, equipment, consumables, and IOL offerings. Proven sales experience in medical devices or the pharmaceutical industry within a surgical setting is required. Familiarity with Cataract Consumables, Equipment, Diagnostics, and Visualization is a plus. The role demands an understanding of surgical techniques, anatomy, physiology, pathology, and optics, along with the ability to provide holistic solutions considering customer needs and budgets. Proficiency in utilizing budget impact models, demonstrating value concepts, CRM applications, and strong collaboration, communication, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are essential. A customer-oriented mindset, territorial management abilities, flexibility, motivation, self-confidence, and a goal-oriented mindset are also necessary.
The Account Manager, Surgical will represent Alcon within Surgical Accounts, driving sales growth through strong customer relationships and serving as the primary point of contact for smooth business coordination. Responsibilities include overseeing account management, maximizing Alcon penetration in major accounts, generating equipment leads, managing service contracts and tenders, and ensuring smooth business operations across the territory. Key duties involve driving total Alcon sales performance, managing sales and market share for Consumables like Phaco Paks and Custom Paks, developing and executing account plans for Cataract and Monofocal IOLs, deriving insights from the customer environment for commercial execution, and providing end-to-end customer support for Cataract customers. The role also entails mapping decision-making processes, building relationships with key stakeholders, aligning with customers using a consultative sales approach, generating demand, negotiating contracts and quotes, liaising with expert roles for technical/clinical knowledge, initiating local events, reporting on competitor activities, and converting customers from competition using value-based selling.
