The Role

Matia is seeking a driven Account Executive to join our expanding sales team. This role is crucial for driving revenue by managing the entire sales cycle, from prospecting to closing new customers. You will play a key part in scaling our sales efforts and will collaborate closely with founders and leadership on customer acquisition strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Generate Pipeline: Proactively identify, target, and engage potential customers in the data and engineering sectors through strategic outbound prospecting.
  • Own the Sales Process: Lead full-cycle sales, including discovery calls, product demonstrations, objection handling, negotiation, and closing deals.
  • Drive Revenue Growth: Consistently meet and exceed quarterly and annual sales targets by effectively managing complex sales cycles.
  • Market Insight: Gather and relay customer feedback to the product team to support continuous platform improvement.
  • Evangelize the Platform: Serve as a trusted advisor, articulating Matia's platform value and demonstrating solutions to critical data challenges.

Requirements

  • Experience: 4+ years of SaaS sales experience, with at least 2 years in an Account Executive role with a proven record of exceeding targets.
  • Data Domain Expertise: 1+ years of direct sales experience with a data tools company (e.g., ETL, Reverse ETL, Data Observability, Data Catalog, BI), demonstrating a strong understanding of the data ecosystem and customer pain points.
  • Outbound Expertise: Proven ability to independently generate pipeline through outbound prospecting to target accounts based on Ideal Customer Profile (ICP).
  • Startup Acumen: Experience and comfort working in early-stage startup environments (Seed – Series A), adaptable to ambiguity and change.
  • Ownership Mentality: Highly accountable and self-driven, capable of hitting and exceeding sales targets with minimal supervision.
  • Strong Communicator: Ability to clearly articulate complex ideas and value propositions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative: A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
