The Workday Associate Engagement Manager is a project manager responsible for supporting client, company, and team accomplishments. This role involves hands-on support of key project deliverables such as charters, project/staffing plans, and issue logs, while driving client engagement. Budget and resourcing constraints will be communicated and addressed, ensuring project success and profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Previous Workday experience is strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of Internet technology and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
  • A practitioner background in HR, Finance, or Payroll.
  • PMP certification is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Become an expert in Workday’s Implementation Methodology and apply it to all engagements.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Workday product suite – HCM, Payroll, and/or Financials.
  • Ensure projects are properly planned and staffed.
  • Provide support to Engagement and Senior Engagement Managers on larger projects.
  • Work with the client project manager to identify and resolve issues impacting project scope and/or timeframes.
  • Ensure the project is delivered within the budget outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW).
  • Work with Delivery Assurance to ensure compliance with agreed-upon checkpoints.
  • Assist in the transition of the client from professional services to product support.
  • Ensure the client can serve as a reference upon completing their implementation.
  • Track issues and risks, communicate status, and escalate concerns about applications.
  • Present at Executive Steering Committee meetings.
  • Identify and escalate change orders when the client requests Cognizant to perform tasks outside the SOW scope.
  • Participate in the sales cycle as requested to gather requirements, formulate a delivery approach, and develop a proposal/SOW.
