Candidates must have 12+ years in analytics or data science, including at least 5 years of senior leadership experience managing leaders. A degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience is required, along with experience leading high-performing analytics teams. Proven ability to influence C-suite and cross-functional leaders is essential, as is a deep understanding of the modern data stack, analytics toolkits (SQL, Python/R, cloud data warehouses, BI/visualization platforms, A/B testing frameworks), and B2B/B2C subscription-based business models. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary. Experience in the media or publishing industry is a strong plus.
The VP of Analytics will lead high-performing analytics teams to foster data-informed business decisions and shape the company's analytics and insights strategy. Responsibilities include leading the strategic direction and implementation of executive reporting, insights, and analytics solutions, and applying data to all stages of product development. Key duties involve building and leading teams, developing executive-facing data products, translating complex data findings into actionable insights, collaborating with cross-functional teams, championing self-service analytics, evaluating and selecting technology tools, establishing analytics best practices, owning the analytics roadmap, and building a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and innovation.
