Requirements

  • At least five years of professional experience in video production or broadcast operations
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications, particularly Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, and After Effects
  • Proven experience managing and maintaining camera, lighting, and audio equipment
  • Experience with live production and control room environments
  • Familiarity with cloud-based production workflows and digital asset management
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines in a dynamic newsroom environment
  • Commitment to staying current with evolving production technologies and workflows
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as part of a rotation or as news demands

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain all field and studio equipment for WSJ Video, including Sony FX-series cameras, Sony and Canon lenses, Aputure/Sidus Link lighting systems, and various audio tools
  • Use Cheqroom, the online inventory management system, to track and manage daily shoot requests
  • Ensure all gear is cleaned, maintained, and kept to operational standards
  • Handle both hands-on maintenance and strategic planning for equipment upgrades, lifecycle management, and workflow optimization
  • Assist the video engineering team with running livestream events, media management, cloud-based archiving, and post-production workflows
  • Manage and maintain voiceover and video podcasting booths
  • Help develop and refine end-to-end workflows for field and studio productions
  • Provide hands-on support for breaking news, live events, and special projects
