The ideal candidate will be based in Murcia, Valencia, or Alicante, Spain, with the ability to travel across EMEA approximately 30-40% of the time. A minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial leadership, business development, or channel management, preferably within the produce, agriculture, crop inputs, or food technology sectors, is required. Demonstrated experience in leading sales and technical teams, including coaching, talent development, and driving accountability, is essential. A proven track record of developing and executing strategic sales programs that drive revenue and long-term customer growth, coupled with a deep understanding of channel dynamics, distributor partnerships, and B2B go-to-market execution, is necessary. Strong cross-functional collaboration experience, excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, and a data-driven mindset with experience in CRM, forecasting tools, and performance metrics are also required. Fluency in both English and Spanish is mandatory.
The Vice President Commercial, EMEA will lead Apeel's commercial growth strategy for the region, with a strong focus on Spain and South Africa, ensuring scalable and profitable expansion. This role involves serving as the primary relationship manager for key distribution and retail partners, developing strategic account plans and tailored growth programs. Responsibilities include driving channel performance reviews, identifying coverage gaps, assessing partnership health, and making recommendations on direct vs. indirect strategies. The individual will build and coach a high-performing regional team, fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and collaboration. Key duties also include partnering cross-functionally with internal teams (R&D, Operations, Marketing, Finance) to align go-to-market strategies, product launches, and service delivery. Analyzing business performance metrics to identify opportunities, refine strategies, and ensure customer success, as well as facilitating the onboarding, enablement, and continuous improvement of channel partners through training and performance optimization, are crucial. The role requires representing the voice of the customer and region internally to contribute to product development and strategic planning, and owning the regional P&L while partnering with finance on forecasting, budgeting, and performance measurement.
