Requirements

  • Experience directing management teams in facility operations, merchandising, and communicating company direction to associates
  • Knowledge of driving sales through effective merchandise presentation, accurate pricing, proper signing, in-stock and inventory levels, budgeting, forecasting, and assessing trends
  • Ability to ensure success of Academy training environment and store standards, including creating engaging environments, integrating trainees, advising on curriculum, providing job shadowing, maintaining customer service, and participating in talent and succession planning
  • Competence in driving execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying needs, developing plans, removing barriers, measuring progress, and supporting continuous learning
  • Skills in providing supervision and development for associates through selecting, training, mentoring, assigning duties, building team environments, setting expectations, conducting evaluations, providing recognition, coaching, and promoting belonging

Responsibilities

  • Uphold the Company's Open Door Policy by proactively seeking Associate comments and concerns
  • Champion Company-sponsored programs, events, and sustainability efforts to Associates, Customers, and the community
  • Lead the management team in controlling expenses indexed to sales and implementing financial correction plans
  • Oversee creation of budgets and participate in analyzing economic trends and community needs for forecasting
  • Direct the management team in facility operations and communicate with associates about operations, merchandising, and company direction
  • Ensure effective merchandise presentation, competitive pricing, proper signing, in-stock levels, and inventory management
  • Meet store requirements as defined in Academy Store standards and standard operating procedures
  • Serve as a visible operations champion in the Academy program, including welcoming trainees and acting as an advocate
  • Identify customer and operational needs, develop and communicate business plans and priorities, remove barriers, and adjust performance
  • Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, and values
