Candidates should have underwriting and/or processing experience, with P&C underwriting experience being a plus. Critical thinking skills, customer focus, communication abilities, decision-making capabilities, and a change champion mindset are required. An empowered mindset and the ability to take initiative are also essential qualifications.
As an Underwriter, you will accept, retain, and classify moderate exposure new and renewal policies, manage an assigned underwriting territory, build agency relationships, identify business trends, and help drive profitable growth for agencies. You will provide input into portfolio underwriting, assist with transfer underwriting efforts, and collaborate with sales, claims, and other internal resources to drive profitable growth. You will also review individual risks, complete underwriting transactions, make decisions on business acceptance, and consult with agents regarding underwriting decisions.
