Knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) compliance standards
Experience with transportation systems such as TMW, RydeSmart, Drive Cam, and HOS (Hours of Service) processes
Ability to supervise, train, and mentor transportation team members, including drivers and 3rd party carriers
Skills in monitoring KPIs, safety metrics (including CSA), performance reviews, and data analysis for improvements
Familiarity with shipping, dispatch, backhaul management, routing, scheduling, and vendor audits

Supervise, train, and mentor transportation team members
Manage driver onboarding, retention, and training
Conduct DOT and FMCSA training for drivers, transportation, and warehouse team members
Enforce DOT safety policies and practices to ensure compliance
Participate in daily/weekly/monthly driver DOT compliance meetings, quarterly driver meetings, and quarterly ride-alongs
Monitor, maintain, and report all safety and compliance metrics (including CSA)
Perform annual driver performance reviews with ongoing coaching on customer service, safety, and driver metrics
Initiate accident procedures, monitor Drive Cam events, and conduct accident investigations
Monitor systems, KPIs, and transportation functions for accuracy, efficiency, DOT compliance, and profitability
Review, validate, and maintain HOS processes and files in applicable software
Collect and analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement in transportation functions
Daily monitor TMW Systems for optimum routing and scheduling efficiency
Monitor staffing and workload, coordinate driver paid time off, and ensure availability of carriers for loads
Monitor vendor audits, invoicing, equipment leases, and maintenance for accuracy and compliance
Proactively respond to concerns and inquiries including breakdowns, late trucks, directions, and product discrepancies
