Instructional Designer

Position Overview
The Instructional Designer will utilize instructional design and consulting skills to create training solutions that support the needs of the business, franchises, and their employees. The goal is to design best-in-class training that balances learner needs with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Utilize instructional design and consulting skills to design training solutions for business, franchises, and employees.
- Design e-Learning from ideation through storyboarding and development.
- Design and develop instructor-led training curricula, including facilitator guides and participant materials, and collaborate with field learning for implementation.
- Project manage and collaborate with project leads, internal clients, subject matter experts, and third-party vendors on training development.
- Work independently and as a team member, exercising discretion in decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
- Collaborate on the design of training communication and marketing strategies for course releases and updates.
- Work with cross-functional partners on training deliverables plans, managing all deliverables and project team members through to delivery.
- Travel by car and air as needed for offsite meetings, restaurant visits for training engagements, etc.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience.
Experience Qualifications
- 5+ years of demonstrable instructional design experience creating formal learning solutions in various delivery formats.
- Ability to conduct needs analysis to design training for specific audiences aligned with business needs.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and ability to balance creativity with business needs.
- Familiarity with conducting all levels of evaluation to assess training usage, impact, and ROI.
- Project management skills, including managing projects with multiple workstreams, cross-functional partners, and vendors, ensuring milestones are met, and projects stay on budget and on time.
- Experience applying visual design principles, scripting and directing video shoots, and managing outside contractors/vendors.
- A portfolio of recent work will be required during the interview process.
- Comfort with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and multiple workstreams.
- Ability to work in multiple settings and environments, including with senior leadership and restaurant employees.
- Experience within QSR, retail, or general operations is a plus.

- Experience coaching junior team members.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Familiarity with authoring tools, such as Storyline.
- Restaurant or retail management experience with training accountability is a plus.
