Requirements

Strong knowledge of HVAC trade basics and best practices
Ability to develop and present lesson plans using lectures, projects, audiovisual resources, computers, and internet
Experience preparing assignments, assessments, and conducting standardized tests
Proficiency in teaching and demonstrating safe use of hand/power tools and industry equipment
Skills in monitoring, assisting, correcting, and grading student performance
Ability to maintain classroom order, records of performance/attendance, and functionality of classroom/lab areas
Capability to inventory, order, and maintain materials/tools
Commitment to ongoing professional development through journals, manuals, and trade publications

Responsibilities

Develop and present specific lesson plans using various techniques
Prepare assignments and assessments for in-class and homework
Deliver technical training curriculum on HVAC trade basics
Greet students and prepare them for the Total Tech experience
Teach and demonstrate effective principles, procedures, methods, including class work, hands-on training, and exams
Teach safe, approved methods for using tools and equipment
Monitor, assist, correct, and grade student performance and competency
Conduct standardized tests per district policies and state law
Verify student competencies, review progress, and assess performance
Maintain classroom order for proper conduct and decorum
Keep records of academic performance and attendance
Maintain functionality of classroom and lab areas
Inventory, order, and maintain material and tool levels
Assist in implementing new course objectives
Train, coach, and mentor students in HVAC best practices
Investigate reported safety issues
Resolve issues with missing/damaged tools and equipment
Perform other duties as assigned (e.g., exporting recycle materials/trash or making coffee)
