Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3–5 years of successful sales experience in the medical device industry
  • Basic understanding of Abbott product lines and business dynamics
  • Well-organized and accustomed to tight deadlines
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in a matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Customer- and results-oriented, self-starter
  • Languages: Dutch, English; additional language is a plus
  • Strong negotiation skills

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales quota per plan by servicing the current customer base, increasing the sales volume to that base, and establishing new accounts
  • Implement comprehensive sales plans to ensure increased market penetration and establishment of new accounts
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of Abbott therapies and products
  • Assist technical procedures as per planning requirements in close cooperation with the Clinical team
  • Prepare reports and perform required administrative sales duties (e.g., expense reports, scheduling, travel planning)
  • Maintain business operations in accordance with corporate policies regarding pricing, quotes, credit terms, and quality guidelines
  • Follow and share best practices before and after sales calls
  • Develop knowledge of competitor products
  • Proactively plan weekly travel schedule and communicate through appropriate channels
  • Apply the company Account Profiling system to gather key account insights
  • Effectively deal with customer complaints and recommend consignment in accounts where necessary
