Requirements

Candidates must have over 5 years of experience in the Telecommunications industry, either with a carrier or managing carriers. A deep understanding of SIP, RTP, RTCP, TLS, SRTP, and related technologies is required, along with proficiency in network routing theory and VoIP architectures. Exceptional familiarity with TCP handshake, Wireshark, packet capture, Spearline, SIP call flows, and TLS configurations is necessary. A good understanding of various SBC platforms and telephony software, voice quality metrics like packet loss, jitter, MoS, and QoS, and knowledge of audio conferencing, PBX functionalities, and contact center flow are also needed. Proficiency in BGP network routing protocol and experience with automation tools such as Python, shell scripting, Ansible, and REST API are essential. Familiarity with ELK, Grafana, Splunk, Jenkins, Git, Jira, Confluence, Kentik, and Linux is highly advantageous, as is proficiency in AWS, OCI, or Google Cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

The Telephony Engineer will design and maintain critical SIP trunking infrastructure, lead high-impact projects, and work with automation technologies. They will build monitoring systems, create documentation, and combine hands-on technical work with operational leadership in a global environment.
