This role is crucial for ensuring technical support readiness and alignment during new warehouse deployments. The Project Manager will act as a central coordination point for commissioning, engineering, IT install, and software teams, aiming for smooth site startups, effective cross-functional collaboration, and process standardization. This is an opportunity for a driven professional with strong project management skills, technical aptitude, and experience in highly cross-functional environments, ideally within warehouse automation, industrial systems, or robotics.

About the Team

The Technical Support Team is part of the Service Operations Organization and is responsible for system stand-up and ongoing operation at client sites. The team works to enhance client relationships by providing timely feedback, responding to issues, and finding solutions. Responsibilities span all aspects of the system, including controls, electrical, software, and networking, with a focus on resolving production-impacting scenarios.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the planning, execution, and refinement of technical support readiness processes and support for new site deployments.
  • Develop relationships with cross-functional partners to proactively address project deployment issues.
  • Develop and manage tools and trackers (Smartsheet, Excel, IMS) to monitor startup deliverables and support milestones.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce reactive issue resolution, and increase visibility for new equipment and technology introductions.
  • Identify project blockers and process deficiencies in current site startups and develop scalable, long-term solutions for efficiency and standardization.
  • Create and utilize flexible frameworks that easily integrate changes in scope and priority.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, Project Management, or a related technical field is preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical project management or coordination for complex, cross-functional projects or deployments.
  • Strong technical acumen, including:
    • Automation, control systems, and hardware/software integration/commissioning within warehouse automation, robotics, or industrial systems.
    • Understanding of PLCs, complex control systems, and software/hardware dependencies.
    • Familiarity with common equipment such as safety devices, motors, VFDs, and sensors.
    • Exposure to robotic systems is a plus.
    • Basic networking knowledge and admin-level experience with Windows operating systems.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in project scheduling and visualization tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
  • Skilled in creating Gantt charts and KPI dashboards.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating projects.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Smartsheet.
  • Familiarity with IMS tools and basic project scheduling software.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to influence across teams.

Our Environment

  • Up to 30% travel may be required.
  • Employees must possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
  • Employees are responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally for bi-weekly reimbursement.
