Requirements

  • Minimum HNC 3 in relatable engineering subject area
  • Proven experience within a maintenance engineering role, preferably in a pharmaceutical processing environment
  • Positive and optimistic in approach to work
  • Calm and pragmatic with strong organisational abilities
  • Dynamic, self-motivated, pro-active approach to tackling ambitious assignments
  • Strong project ownership
  • Detailed understanding of pharmaceutical processing equipment and/or supporting GMP infrastructure
  • Willingness to work both independently and collaboratively with other team members and third-party companies
  • Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom protocols (no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc.), and PPE requirements (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)
  • Ability to stand for full shift

Responsibilities

  • Ensure routine inspections and routine maintenance is conducted according to schedule, and repairs are completed as soon as practically possible; coordinate diagnosis of issues and implement robust solutions with right first-time principles
  • Oversee new installs and upgrades, integrate into ongoing site schedule for upkeep; ensure compliance with current regulations and standards, perform GAP assessments on existing equipment to optimise performance; introduce future-proofing with newest technology and systems
  • Follow established guidelines for safe working environment, stay updated on latest standards and approaches; coordinate scheduled safety inspections and audits
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed on equipment; develop innovative ways to capture performance characteristics such as mean time to failure; identify improvements to existing approaches; assist in development, implementation, and upkeep of preventive maintenance programs
  • Work closely with other engineering team members to coordinate and support maintenance activities; proactively improve team's knowledge in area of expertise; provide hands-on technical mentorship; structure training program for the team and seek new training opportunities
  • Lead all aspects of site’s management of direct and indirect production equipment, including lifecycle management from installation through to end of life (inspecting, fault finding, repairing, maintaining, upgrading precision pharmaceutical equipment)
  • Provide oversight and engineering specialist support for a section of the production footprint, ensuring enduring solutions and latest technologies are used where appropriate
