Technical Program Manager - Sensing Business Unit

Position Overview

Vannevar is seeking a Technical Program Manager to join our pioneering Sensing Business Unit. This team focuses on our most ambitious product and customer deployments, partnering with user groups to scope and deliver high mission impact outcomes. As a Technical Program Manager, you will become an expert in scoping mission problems for RF and EW (Electronic Warfare) mission sets, defining and iterating on solutions using our products, your creativity, and internal engineering partnerships.

Company Mission

Our mission is to be the technology backbone for strategic competition against peer adversaries. These missions – including intelligence, information operations, and special activities – are happening today, and their success or failure will determine if we go to war tomorrow. We've been on the front lines of these missions since 2019, supporting a wide range of missions across all US service branches, multiple combatant commands, partner nations, and interagency stakeholders. We deploy both hardware and software products to support people on the front lines, spanning collection, planning/assessments, and effects.

Company Growth & Funding:

  • Grew from $3M in run-rate revenue in 2021 to $80M run-rate revenue today.
  • Profitable since 2022.
  • Raised $91M in venture capital funding through Series B.
  • Valued at $1.5B as of 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Problem Identification: Identify critical mission problems with users that can be solved using Vannevar’s products or new product development. Continuously adjust hypotheses based on new information.
  • Solution Development: Solve identified problems and generate meaningful mission outcomes. This involves embedding with user groups, becoming a domain expert, and utilizing creativity, current products, and sometimes new product development with the engineering team.
  • Program Thesis Development: Develop a thesis for broader programs that extend current work to other groups. Create compelling mission pitches tied to these programs, including strong demonstrations.
  • Business Development Support: Assist the business development team in winning program deals by partnering with them, traveling to customers, and generating enthusiasm for the mission impact Vannevar can provide.

Requirements

  • High interest and aptitude for the EW mission set (Drones, Sensors, SDRs).
  • Proven track record of creatively scoping ambiguous problems and generating strong hypotheses in the face of ambiguity (experience can be from national security or the general private sector).
  • Grit and creativity to persevere through roadblocks.
  • Demonstrated ability to work problems to conclusion, trying different approaches until a solution is found.
  • Ability to work autonomously and set personal goals.
  • Capacity to quickly learn new software products to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Demonstrated bias towards achieving outcomes, even if it requires assisting or performing tasks outside of one's immediate role.
  • Experience iterating on a product with product design, product management, and/or engineering teams is a plus, but not required.
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance is a plus, but not required.

Location:

  • This role can be fully remote.
  • New York or Seattle locations are a plus.
