Senior Technical Account Manager (TAM)

Position Overview

Semgrep is seeking a Senior Technical Account Manager (TAM) to service its most important customers. This role is crucial for driving the implementation and ongoing adoption of the Semgrep AppSec Platform. The Senior TAM will partner with customers to maximize the value of Semgrep by developing personalized growth plans, resolving urgent issues to mitigate churn risk, acting as a subject matter expert, representing customer needs for product improvements, and delivering executive business reviews to both technical practitioners and executive stakeholders. This customer-facing position also involves close collaboration with internal teams such as Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Support.

You are ideal for this role if you have:

  • 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing role. Prior experience as a Technical Account Manager, Account Manager, or Product Manager for a highly technical product is preferred.
  • Experience with Big 4 Consulting is preferred, but not required.
  • A deep understanding of developer workflows and build systems, including:
    • CI/CD environments (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab, Circle CI, Jenkins, Buildkite)
    • SCM environments (e.g., Git, SVN, Perforce)
  • Strategic thinking abilities with deep customer empathy, and the capacity to create and execute plans for account growth.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and possess an executive presence.
  • Familiarity with Web Application Security concepts, including the OWASP Top 10.
  • A background or genuine interest in DevSecOps or AppSec.
  • An Engineering or technical degree from a four-year college or university.

Responsibilities

  • Host monthly customer check-ins to understand successes and challenges.
  • Engage with technical stakeholders within customer organizations and internally at Semgrep.
  • Develop personalized success plans for customers to maximize their value from the platform.
  • Partner with Sales to conduct executive business reviews for both practitioners and executive buyers.
  • Collaborate with Tech Support to resolve bug tickets and with Product to submit and track feature requests.
  • Advocate for customer needs regarding product roadmap items to drive evolution of our product suite and features.
  • De-escalate urgent issues that pose a churn risk.
  • Contribute to the evolution of best practices for delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Contribute to documentation to expand resources for product usage.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $127,000 - $165,000 (This range is for candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Other locations may vary.)
  • Our compensation package includes equity and benefits in addition to salary.
